Fixing the Family in a Broken World

Mini 24

Two questions:

  1. If the world is broken, how do we keep our families safe, stable, and unbroken? That’s the BIG question, and the picture after the article is accompanied by some expert advice. Meanwhile…
  2. What about families that are already broken—how can we heal them while the Earth is floundering and humanity is fracturing? Answering that question might help heal the world, and that’s the subject of this article.

So, this article looks at a family’s deep-rooted wounds and disabilities (of body, mind, and spirit) that might trace back to any number of causes, ranging from illnesses, injuries, and addictions originating here on Earth… to karmic debts, soul missions, disturbing voices in the head, and other conditions that originate beyond the Earth.

I believe there’s a sort of “magic wand” that (under the right conditions) can instantly heal all of those deep wounds and disabilities of a long-suffering family. It’s the most powerful force in the cosmos. But, realistically, how effective is it—that magic wand—in actually healing deep-rooted family issues? Well, that depends on a several things. Mainly:

  1. How completely do family members understand and acknowledge the awesome, transformative power of that “magic wand”?
  2. How stubborn are the disorders? (This is Earth, after all, where predatory, parasitic, competitive, and other stressful forces inflict all sorts of physical, mental and emotional wounds that we can’t help but obsess over.) And, most important…
  3. How much attention and support does the family attract from finer spiritual beings—those brilliant light beings who routinely channel their transformative, “magic wand” life-energies to Earth, through people who possess receptive, resonant minds?

Ultimately and idealistically, the magic wand can instantly heal all of a family’s wounds and their disorders and symptoms, but realistically many of them are so deeply rooted in our physical lives that they appear to be impossible to heal. And as long as we give into appearances (as we all learn to do while growing up), the magic wand can’t fully function while we’re here on Earth. So, these are the conditions that allow instant healing:

Basically, we have to train ourselves, patiently but relentlessly, to look past the appearances of Earth living to see the all-powerful truth that shines in all its splendor at the center of the cosmos… at the center of everything. That central source is the all-powerful truth. It is the magic wand. Once we REALIZE that, to the point that Earth’s illusive appearances have no power, the full healing power of the “magic wand” can stream through us into our family.

So, to activate the magic wand, we simply understand and acknowledge the source as the all-that-is, and hold it close to our heart as we open ourselves up to its rich, healing, purifying light or holy spirit or AUM. Then, the more we resonate with that perfect light in our thoughts and feelings, the more healing energy we can feel streaming through us into our family.

Note: The above article draws heavily on The Infinite Way teachings of Joel Goldsmith, who in turn was inspired by Christian Science teachings.

Keeping the Family Safe in Perilous Times: Expert Advice

This pulled-apart view of the cosmos shows the multidimensional nature of a family, each member containing various spirit bodies that get subtler and more perfect the closer they are to the source at the center of everything. The source is the “magic wand” that can instantly make a family healthy and whole… under the right conditions.

Meanwhile, the best we can do is take practical steps to keep our families healthy and whole. Here’s some of the best advice I could find on the subject:

From the University of Delaware:

Live healthy life styles that include time for rest and relaxation, change (control) the things that are in our power to change, stay in the moment through mindfulness, acknowledge the perils but see the situation from the bright side, validate everyone’s emotions with the knowledge that stress and anxiety are unavoidable in crises, foster self-esteem and self-reliance of each family member, express love and appreciation every day, enjoy family outings and games and meetings, play and pray together….

From the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT)

Model calm and control, talk with your children about crisis events and keep your explanations developmentally appropriate, work to understand what the kids are really trying to say, admit that you don’t know the answers to some of their questions, validate their feelings and reassure them, limit their TV and online time while maintaining a normal family routine for dinner, homework, chores, bedtime… and spend extra time playing quiet games or reading to the kids before bed.

In these times of crises and opportunities*, may we all find foresight and courage to align with the opportunities we have right here, right now.

*Incidentally: The Chinese word for crisis, 危机, combines the characters for “danger” 危 and “crucial turning point” 机. (That “crucial turning point” character 机 is popularly mistranslated in America as “opportunity” 机会. It’s a handy mistranslation for optimists like I try to be… sometimes. 🙂 )

From my attempts to understand the mysterious ways of karma, I pass on some words from the scriptures of India on this subject. Three categories of karma are explained:

    1. Prarabda karma…karmas committed in the past which we are reaping in this lifetime
    2. Sanchitta karma…past karmas which are stored up to be reaped in future lifetimes
    3. Agami karma…karmas we are committing now to be reaped in the future

It seems like agami karma is foundational to sanchitta karma which is foundational to prarabda karma.

They say there is a knot in the heart which is the seat of all karmic impressions, and this has to be pierced in order for all karmic impressions to be burned away.

Sounds like the karmic bottom line is, our choices over many lifetimes all get stored up in the cosmic ledger, and eventually the surpluses are doled out and the deficits come due. If the afterlife is run by CPAs, won’t THAT be a surprise? 🤑
