That would be a good motto for the members of any group of people working together, but is tailor-made for an ITC research group like INIT:

We’re in it together… and we’re all doing the best we can.

A motto like that might help members to be humble, tolerant, and patient with each other.

Life on this noble-savage Earth is fraught with challenges, as…

• the finer spirit deep within us gently coaxes us to treat each other with kindness, love, trust, and good will, but as…

• our animal side with its hormones and ego compels us to take advantage of others and their kindnesses for our own selfish purposes… warns us to be wary of others’ motivations that might do us harm… and generally stirs up indignation and distress.

This dichotomy of life on Earth presents a special challenge to ITC. When our animal side comes to the surface and insists on running the show, the inevitable conflicts and hurt feelings disrupt the contact field… and the ITC bridge falters. Then we have to make apologies, forgive each other, and move on… and the ITC bridge mends… until the next time the savage side exerts itself. And the cycle continues.

That seems to be an unavoidable process among us carnal humans… the on-going breakdown and repair of the spiritual bonds that connect us all.

And that is what makes an ITC project so difficult: its susceptibility to the whims of human nature… the fragile nature of the contact field.

So… maybe we could get through the ups and downs of human relationships more smoothly, and perhaps lessen their effects, if we could always keep in mind that simple motto:

We’re in it together, and we’re all doing the best we can.
