The Human Story series explores the origins of Eden—that light, pleasant, paradise spirit world where many of us from Earth awaken after we die.

But what about that other place—the dark, shadowy realm where people sometimes get stuck for a while after they die, before moving on to Paradise where they belong? How did that unsavory spirit realm come into existence? What purpose does it serve?

Let’s revisit the history of humanity and try to determine how and why the dismal spirit realm came to be.

A clearer understanding of that shadowy place that religions call Hell or purgatory—that unsightly-blemish-of-a-realm that stirs up problems in our world day after day, year after year, ad infinitum—will give us a better idea of what Carly and other front-line spirit workers have to contend with as they toil tirelessly to heal the human spirit… as they pull aside the veil to expose humanity’s dark, spiritual abscess to the light.

What’s that darkness all about?

In a nutshell:

From the beginning…

Light or consciousness from the source (God, or Brahman) emanated out-beyond, vibrating ever more slowly as it formed universes of denser and denser vibration. (Not outward in space, but out-beyond in vibration… so that if we could see all of these universes through our physical eyes they would seem to be superimposed over each other… in a way that seems impossible to our five-sensory minds. Rather like radio signals.)

Long, long ago, living bodies and structures in the light, astral worlds became templates for the denser physical worlds. For every human spirit-body, every tree, and every rock that glistened in an astral world, efforts would be made to materialize its dense counterpart in a corresponding physical world.

Indeed, for every astral world that existed, efforts would be made to create an entire, corresponding physical world.

That, I believe, was the general “cosmic plan” that led to the creation of Earth, the other planets, the stars, and the rest of the material universe as we know it.

So, physical planets were forged in our solar system several billion years ago, patterned after timeless astral worlds that were used as templates for the physical worlds.

Eden, the Jewel of Our Solar System

The jewel of our solar system was Eden, or Marduk, a Saturn-sized paradise world that circled the sun between Mars and Jupiter. Eden was inhabited by superhumans with lifespans of thousands of years. There was no gender, and living things on Eden coexisted in peace.  Much different from life on Earth today. Today we take it for granted here on Earth…

• that men and women have short lifespans, have sex, and have babies to perpetuate the species. That was not part of the original plan on Eden. The superhumans simply lived a long, long time, and had no need for reproduction.
• that life kills life to survive. Life killing life was not a part of the original plan. The superhumans of Eden lived in peace with each other and with animals and plants.
• that our short, carnal lifetimes are what matter most, and any sort of spiritual make-up and spiritual afterlife is just a vague possibility… an abstraction. Not so on Eden, where the physical and the spiritual were inexorably entwined.

Astral worlds: Templates of physical worlds?

Here’s how I believe it must have worked on Eden:

The physical Eden and the astral Eden existed in parallel, superimposed over each other in “space”… and each carnal Edenite living on the material planet operated in parallel with his spiritual self—the astral Edenite living in the astral Eden. The evolution of the two worlds—physical Eden and astral Eden—proceeded in parallel. Whatever was happening in physical Eden was probably happening at the same time in astral Eden as well.

Because of this close coherence between the physical and astral worlds, and because of the long lifespans of the Edenites, there was probably no concept of an “afterlife,” which most of us take for granted here on Earth. Everyone on Eden enjoyed a perpetual, intimate interaction between their carnal existence and their astral existence. Their two lives moved along a parallel course, and each Edenite was perpetually aware of both of his concurrent lives.

That is the scenario of Eden that makes the most sense to me, based on evidence that’s come together in my research… and it’s a lot different from how most of us experience life on Earth.

Here on Earth we mortal humans have been separated and alienated from our spiritual selves. In fact, unlike Eden, our carnal world and our spiritual world are way out of sync. Physical and spiritual life among modern humans is terribly disjointed. That’s part of the general chaos that has become characteristic of life on Earth, which all traces back to the worst catastrophe in the history of our solar system, some 4 billion years ago.

The Destruction of Eden

Life on Eden was idyllic. Physical life and spiritual life were intertwined. What an Edenite did in the material world, he was also doing in the astral world.

That probably started to change when the Edenites began to explore and to colonize other physical planets. Colonists assigned to live on Earth must have begun to feel a spiritual alienation. Their carnal bodies were experiencing life on a small, alien world—Earth—while their astral bodies were probably still living on the astral Eden. Their physical and spiritual lives were no longer closely synchronized.

Then disaster struck. The advanced technologies of Eden, well-suited to finer spiritual realms, proved to be critically unstable in the material universe, and Eden was destroyed in a massive explosion. It happened 4 billion years ago, when Edenite technologies got out of hand.

The Survival of Earth Colonies

Earth was just a minor planet at the time, and there were colonies of Edenites busy on this small planet trying to duplicate the Edenite paradise here on Earth… when calamity struck.

Eden was much larger than Earth, probably about the size of Saturn (deduced from the fact that the astral world Marduk, or Eden, has been described by our spirit friends as a Saturn-size paradise world).

Colonists on Earth were marooned under difficult conditions:

• Their home planet Eden had exploded into millions of asteroids that were now spreading like shrapnel through the solar system… gently jerked around by gravitational forces;
• All of their loved ones on the home planet were suddenly gone… at least in the physical sense;
• The colonists were still connected to the astral Eden, which remained as a paradise astral world even though the physical planet was destroyed… but without a physical Eden they probably felt even more alienated from their spiritual roots;
• The colonists may have worried that some of the wayward asteroids from the obliterated home planet might smash into the Earth.

Suddenly the lives of the Edenite colonists marooned on Earth were destabilized.

These are among thousands of ancient andesite stones, meticulously carved many millions of years ago, which were dug up recently near Ica, Peru, and which offer a very rare glimpse into life on Earth in the eons following the fall of Eden, or Marduk. One shows ancient star-gazers watching the ominous trajectories of the asteroids from Eden, the other shows humans contending with dinosaurs.

Afterlife: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Let’s put together a picture of how and why our world has come under the grip of fear during the past several hundreds of millions of years… and how that fear has spun off the Earth to form a dark, shadowy spirit world around the planet. We’ll assemble this multidimensional picture from good evidence (including ITC contacts as well as solid stuff like the Ica stones) and from informed speculation.

Peace on Earth Until the Last Ice Age

An ITC contact from the ethereal being Technician gives us the first hint about the encroaching darkness upon humanity:

“Prior to the last ice age, men lived peacefully together, man with man and man with animals.” 

That suggests that, despite the destruction of Eden 4 billion years ago, fear probably didn’t play a big role in life on Earth until some 360 million years ago. Until then, life was apparently peaceful. Here are several of the “recent” ice ages on Earth:

• Quaternary – 2.5 million years ago to the present,
• Karoo – 360-260 million years ago,
• Andean-Saharan – 450-420 million years ago,
• Cryogenian – 800-635 million years ago.

I assume that by “the last ice age” Technician meant the previous one (Karoo), not the final one (Quaternary)… and that he was referring to what are usually called “ice ages,” and not one of the shorter “glacial periods” that make up an “ice age.” Ice ages and glacial periods are often confused.

I suspect that the superhuman Edenites living on Earth 2, 3, and 4 billion years ago were able to maintain a spiritual connection with the astral Eden. They could move back and forth between their carnal lives on Earth and their astral lives on Eden. That way, they might be living mostly on astral Eden, then donning a physical body for a while (the way modern astronauts might don a space suit) in order to undertake a specific project on Earth, where they were busy trying to create and sustain a paradise environment. Then, when a particular project was completed, they would return to astral Eden, which was and had always been a paradise environment.

That scenario would account for our ancient ancestors being able to maintain peace of mind and spirit amid the terrible chaos throughout the solar system following the explosion of Planet Eden.

Dinosaurs

The dinosaurs lumbered out of the Karoo ice age some 230 million years ago, and they didn’t get along with the humans. As ethereal being Thfirrin told us in a 1996 ITC contact:

Long, long ago when humans came to Earth from Eden (or Marduk), they lost mastery over nature after their dissension with the serpent…. Humans had to fight against nature and some of its most dangerous creatures. You call them monsters, but they were only life forms which defended themselves and their kind. These creatures did not subject themselves to the intellectual superiority of humans and had to be defeated and destroyed by cunning and strength. Human civilizations prevailed.

It was apparently this timeframe, roughly 65 to 360 million years ago, when anger, vengeance, hatred, and other off-shoots of fear began to spread through humanity, spinning off the Earth to form a dark, shadowy spirit world.

Thoughts On Earth Help To Create the Spirit Worlds

The worlds of spirit, while created initially by divine light or consciousness spreading from the source (God or Brahman), are constantly shaped and reshaped by the thoughts and beliefs of their inhabitants. We on Earth not only affect our own world with our thoughts, but also cause changes in the astral worlds and dimensions close to and associated with our world.

Another ITC message from Technician:

The world in which we live, which you call ‘the other side,’ is constructed according to the basic laws of Ptolemy. The ideas that living and deceased persons hold concerning this structure are misleading.

The life view of Ptolemy was then obliterated by followers of Copernicus. This life view correspondingly reduced the number who arrived here geometrically. At the moment, due to the imprint of Einstein’s view, and because of numerous new theories from your side — Hawking, Sheldrake, etc. — the other side here is, one might say, ‘out of joint.’

Countless people are coming here from the earth. The spiritual understanding of many are not as yet advanced to the point that they recognize their responsibility for the outcome of these events. As new situations on Earth are created, we stand ever ready for new changes to echo here. Here these lead not only to changes in our planet but also to the dimensions or planes. New changes then need to be made here to compensate. The solution that we at the moment have decided upon is to try to reach the core of our world through which, when you inform us, we would be able to create anew. People who read what you write would discuss it with others and slowly construct a stable direction of thinking. To be sure, people here live happily and peacefully and can ‘straighten out’ the many problems that you manifest.

This thought-provoking message leads me to believe that the collective thoughts, beliefs, and expectations of humanity on Earth have a big effect on the spirit worlds.

• Our intellectual beliefs about the cosmos can reshape the astral template (third spirit level) of the universe. That would apply especially to the astral Eden.
• Our feelings of love and empathy can access the fourth, fifth, and sixth levels, which grow subtler until transcending time and structure altogether… where formless light beings live in realms of love and light.
• Our fears and animosities can create and feed dismal, troubled scenarios in a dark, shadowy spirit realm (second level) that surrounds the Earth.

The collective thoughts of humanity are like light passing through a prism. Love and other fine, light vibrations stream into finer spiritual realms. Intellectual thoughts and beliefs about the material world stream into spirit worlds at the third astral level to affect structures there. Our fears and animosities collect in the dismal realm, that second-level shadow world that blankets the Earth.

Atlantis and the Fall of Man

At some point the Edenites embarked on a project to create a race of mortal humans with temperaments and physical traits well suited to this noble-savage Earth. They created a race of “Titans,” or demigods. Many of the gods of Egypt, Babylon, India, and other early cultures were probably among the real-life Titans who once walked the Earth.

The intent of the Project, I believe, was to create a race of capable humans who could act as wise stewards of the Earth… but along the way something went wrong. It happened during the First Epoch of the Project, which took place in Atlantis. Today we are in the Second Epoch, which began in Babylon.

Atlantis began between 20,000 and 40,000 years ago and was ruled by Titans, the descendants of the Edenite castaways on Earth.

Another ITC message from The Seven:

The “fall of man” is a legend… based on a factual incident: the downfall of the civilization you often call Atlantis (also known by other names). This downfall was brought about by the descendants of the last inhabitants of Marduk who became marooned on planet Terra. This downfall came through reliance and blind trust in a massive technology.

Various races of humans emerged on Earth in the time of Atlantis, mostly as a result of bio-engineering and cross-breeding conducted by the Titans. Natural evolution probably played only a minor role in the various breeds of humans, dogs, cats, and other domestic animals.

Origins of Darkness and Our Spiritual Blinders

I believe that the dark, dismal realm around the Earth has been formed out of the troubled residue of human thinking over millions of years, but especially since the time of Atlantis, when various races of noble-savage humans were engineered and cultivated. Warring and conquest and domination became a way of life, along with the associated resentments, fears, and animosities.

Eventually the dark spirit realm became so repulsive that life on Earth became unbearable… and the only way to make it tolerable was to create spiritual blinders in the minds of carnal humans, so that the unsavory scenarios going on around them in the dismal world would remain out of sight, hidden from view. Those blinders have made life on Earth endurable since the time of Atlantis.

Maybe a good way to get a stark, unfiltered view of those dark spirit worlds is through the hallucinations of alcoholics going through delirium tremens, or DTs. I believe that severe, chronic alcohol abuse can lead to a sudden lowering of both the human spirit and our spiritual blinders… so that when a chronic alcoholic “hits bottom” and suffers severe hallucinations, he’s really getting a glimpse of the darkest of the dark. He’s picking up on thought patterns that trace back to some of the darkest times of our ancient, tortured history.

Here are some of the hallucinations posted on the web by alcoholics suffering DTs after several weeks of heavy drinking:

You close your eyes and see “something like you’d see in hell.” Some examples: hordes of crawling insects, dinosaurs, rats, dead-looking people chasing each other, demons coming through walls toward you, mechanical spiders rattling across the bed, the room engulfed in flames, shrunken heads with moving eyes, gangs trying to kill you or rape you, things flying at you, cockroaches, scorpions, and snakes….

The shadow world of Earth is inhabited by spirits ranging in disposition from mildly confused to deeply troubled. The purpose of this article was to shed some light on how and why that shadow realm came into existence, and how it is perpetuated through the millennia.
